Mobile tickets holds significant opportunity for marketers

With the adoption of smartphones, mobile will extend beyond telephone, email and even internet, to become a major player in the ticketing business. Mobile coupons and tickets for movies, transport and events are set for a change to digital format with the exploding consumer technology.

A study by Juniper Research predicts mobile ticketing transactions to exceed $100 billion (based on gross transaction value) as soon as 2012, doubling the 2010 value of the market.
